Like the Bill Wither’s song goes, “Ain’t no sunshine when the Sunshine Music Festival is gone..’ The Sunshine Music Festival, which has been the highlight of the St Petersburg music scene for years,will not be making it to Vinoy Park in 2019 . But a spokesman for the Tedeschi Trucks Band,the fantastic rock,soul,blues funk,folk jazz group that headlines the all day show, said they hope to bring it back in 2020. Fans of the festival, which over the years has not only brought us the Tedeschi Trucks Band , but Los Lobos,Mavis Staples,Railroad Earth,Hot Tuna and Bruce Hornsby, should also get ready for what the band says will be some special plans for St Petersburg sometime next year,  In the meantime, if you need a fix of Derek Trucks’ mind blowing slide guitar work or his lovely wife Susan’s great voice (and guitar playing!) check out their latest release Live from the Fox Oakland.
