From the Bench: June 2022

Happy Pride month, St. Pete! This year, the main events everyone loves are back, plus more. Check out our community events calendar for the full program.

Congratulations to the Woodson African American Museum of Florida. The Museum’s annual Woodson Warrior fundraising event raised over $200k for Black scholars! Keep the celebration going at this year’s Juneteenth Community Festival at Gibbs High School.

It’s redistricting time, and the city wants your input. Learn more about this important process that strives for equitable representation in city government and find opportunities to get involved. Visit stpete.org/redistricting, and express your interest at stpete.org/redistrictingcommission.

This month, we reflect on Pride history here in St. Pete, chat with LGBTQIA+ advocate Nathan Bruemmer, get to know Woodfield Fine Art, Ace Handyman Services, and learn more about SHINE: Serving Health Insurance Needs of Elders. All that and more in this month’s edition of St. Pete’s Community Magazine.

Till next time,

Ashley & Tony
