Sunrise Sale: Pajama Party & Discount Extravaganza!

Thursday, July 15th will be the 48th annual Sunrise Sale in Downtown St. Pete, and it is not to be missed! “We’re hoping that this year’s event will be bigger and better than ever, and that shoppers will embrace the quirky and fun ‘shop in your PJ’s’ theme,” says Tami Simms, president of the Downtown Business Association (DBA), who mounts the event lead by DBA board member Eileen Epright.

Pajama-rama!

That’s right, starting at 6:43 am, the early-morning super-sale in the heart of downtown is also a fantastic pajama party! The PJ theme and awesome community participation even got a mention in the New York Times a few years ago. Shoppers are encouraged, but of course not required, to wear their jammies. It makes for a wonderful atmosphere, and some businesses even have special discounts for those in their PJs. Just get there early to nab the best deals of the day!

The event is not only a great deal, but a unique St. Pete experience and a whole lot of fun. “The ability to support our local businesses, to get outside and do something fun – it puts a smile on your face!” Tami enthuses. “There’s also the fun of running into your neighbors and friends who are out shopping. We’re encouraging shoppers to check in on Facebook and use the #SunriseSale2021, and there’s talk of a random prize to be selected among those who check in.”
