From the Bench: May Issue

Hi, friends. Welcome back. Before you start scrolling, here’s a few things we’d like you to know:

Historic Walking Tour Mural
Last month, local student artists created a visual history of St. Petersburg on the North wall of the St. Petersburg Museum of History. Beginning with the arrival of the Orange Belt Railroad and the Tony Jannus flight of the Benoist, to the Sunshine Skyway and St. Pete Pier, the mural portrays over 100 years of the City’s History. Stop by to check it out! The St. Petersburg Museum of History is located at 335 2nd Ave NE, 33701.

No Straws St. Pete
The recent campaign to ban plastic straws has us thinking about all the ways we can reduce single-use plastics. Show us how you’re minimizing waste; tag us on Facebook or Instagram @greenbenchmonthly and you could be featured in one of our upcoming issues.

MLK Repaving
The city of St. Petersburg is planning to mill and resurface Dr. M.L. King, Jr. Street from 5th Ave N to 34th Ave N starting as early as May. Proposed recommendations include an additional eight crosswalks, parallel neighborhood greenways, and bike lanes. Till next time,
