From the Bench: April 2018

Great news, readers! We put on some weight this issue—a whopping eight more pages for your monthly dose of community spirit. Big thanks to our new and existing community supporters for making this leap possible. Now before you dig in, a few things we would like you to know:

Letter Carriers’ Food Drive Saturday, May 12th

As part of the annual National Association of Letter Carriers’ “Stamp Out Hunger” Food Drive, postal workers throughout the country will collect non perishable food donations as they deliver mail. The St. Petersburg Free Clinic, and other local nonprofits that provide food to neighbors in need, rely on the food drive every year to stock pantry shelves for the busier summer months. Keep in mind, a lot of supplies donated during the Holiday season dwindle by this time and the demand for food when school is out is much higher. If you have the means, please place non-perishable food items in a bag and leave it in or near your mailbox on Saturday, May 12.

Clothes To Kids Needs Shorts, Pants, Shirts and School Shoes

To donate, stop by their St. Pete store at 2168 34th Street South. Or visit clothestokids.org for other location and info.

Till next time,
