From the Bench: September 2021

Five years! Can you believe it?! September 16th, 2016 the inaugural issue of Green Bench Monthly hit mailboxes. It seems like just yesterday. We’ve met so many people and learned so much along the way. Tony and I aren’t typically the sentimental types, but we have saved every email, letter, and book that readers have sent in over the years. It makes us smile thinking of all the connections this little magazine has made. GBM is what it is today because of our readers, contributors, and not to mention our advertisers — many of which have been with us since the very beginning. It truly is a community magazine. We’re grateful for the opportunity to share stories with you and look forward to what the next five years will bring. This month we’ve got your usual lineup: history, local businesses, food, downtown developments, and events. Make sure to check out the Good With Me Festival. The festival shines a light on mental health. As always, thanks for reading GBM, and even more if you share this issue with a friend. We love you, St. Pete!

Till next time,

Ashley & Tony
