From the Museum’s Archives: October 2017

A rare 1920’s aerial shot of the early St. Petersburg downtown waterfront, complete with three piers: Tomlinson/Fountain of Youth, Railroad and the Municipal Pier. But something is missing – the dredged land that would complete the Vinoy Park Hotel, and Vinoy Park itself. Reservoir Lake is visible in the background, one of the City’s original water sources, it is now known as Mirror Lake. See the Museum of History’s newest exhibit – Signs of Our Times – A Vintage Journey of Roadside Art. Iconic rare road and advertising signs from around the world.

The St. Petersburg Museum of History is located at 335 2nd Ave NE, St. Petersburg, FL 33701. For more information about exhibits, hours, and ticket pricing visit SPMOH.com.
