Raising Locals: Dream Big this MLK Day

Martin Luther King, Jr. Day is always a day off from school for Pinellas County students, but it should also be a day on for children to learn about and explore the lasting legacy of the iconic civil rights leader. Celebrations across St. Petersburg are a wonderful place for families to participate in honoring Dr. King’s life and dream; events, however, aren’t limited to just one day of remembrance.

Presented by Advantage Village Academy, a local non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that promotes self-sufficiency, financial stability, and economic development in the community, MLK-related “Dream Big” events will offer residents the opportunity to honor Dr. King throughout the long weekend beginning Friday, January 17th and concluding Monday, January 20th with the nation’s longest-running Dr. MLK Jr. parade.
