Movers & Makers: Summertime Markets

St. Pete plays host to a plethora of makers’ markets. There are so many, in fact, that sometimes it’s hard to keep up. Check in with us monthly to learn more about the St. Pete market scene, find upcoming events and show your local support by shopping small.

As the temperatures rise, the market scene in St. Pete cools down. Many of our favorite local events shut down for a brief summer hiatus. However, market lovers looking to beat the heat, fear not. You can still find an opportunity to step off the streets and in to the air conditioning at free indoor markets in the months ahead!

Brocante Vintage Market is the only monthly vintage market in the city, and it’s held the first weekend of each month! Visitors can expect repurposed, rare and unique finds within the walls of the 15,000 square foot warehouse, the market’s permanent location. It’s only fitting that the old warehouse was formerly a piano factory! The space is restocked all weekend long during their events, promising brand new finds each day! If you can’t take your purchases with you during the market, they offer a post-market pick up window. Although they won’t deliver, they can refer you to a local partner for big ticket item delivery. Shoppers can stay hydrated with free bottled water or get caffeinated at their coffee stand within. Many shoppers take advantage of the food truck on site or stroll across the street to 3 Daughters Brewing for a cold one after the market!

St. Pete Indie Market moves toward cooler climates for their indoor market summer series! The first Saturday of the month market goers can hit Nova 535, one of Downtown St. Petersburg’s most remarkable, historic venue spaces. The building has been around since 1920 when it was built as a five and dime store! Visitors can expect what they’ve come to love from the St. Pete Indie Market: hand makers, designers, original artists of varying mediums, musicians, horticulturists, a full bar, food options and more! Over 45 vendors will come together each month to celebrate the season.

Hit the market at these indoor events this summer:

Brocante Vintage Market: July 7th-8th, August 4th-5th, September 1st-2nd 9am-7pm Saturdays and 9am-5pm Sundays
St. Pete Indie Market: July 7th, August 4th, September 1st 10am-2pm
